Lessons Learned From A "Deep-Dive" Month Of Yoga
I remember learning recently that our sense of smell is far more powerful than we know. Recent research has shown that it can be, in fact, as powerful as a dog's sense of smell - if we are completely in tune with it. In experiments where people were reliant on only their sense of smell, everyone was surprised by how powerful it was. On a weirdly related note, having taken yoga classes on and off for the past decade, I would say I always benefitted from them in some small way, paying attention to the lessons available in the same way we sort of peripherally observe smells. But taking this month to truly tap into the experience and get everything I could out of it, I learned more from yoga than I actually thought was possible.
Throughout the month, I reflected on my experience during and after each class and wrote about what I learned. It was an incredible practice that I grew from physically, mentally, and spiritually.
In order to share my lessons learned with you all, I’m doing this post a little differently, and will be sending it out in bits to my email subscribers starting tomorrow, May 30. Sign up at the bottom of this page if you would like to receive these emails from me. I hope you enjoy my reflections and I encourage you to give yoga a significant try if you are looking for something to settle you and help you grow across the board.
